PTSD & TBI Evaluation for Veterans
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is defined by the DSM-5 as a mental health condition triggered by exposure to a traumatic event—often involving threat to life, serious injury, or sexual violence. Core symptom clusters include intrusive memories, avoidance behaviors, negative changes in mood and cognition (such as persistent guilt, fear, or emotional numbing), and hyperarousal (e.g., irritability, heightened startle response, sleep disturbances). For many veterans, these symptoms persist long after the trauma, impacting relationships, work, and daily functioning.

The Cognitive Impact of Mild to Moderate TBI
Mild to moderate Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), often sustained during military service or combat operations, can lead to a broad range of neurocognitive challenges. Veterans with TBI may experience decline in memory (working, short-term, and long-term), attention and concentration, and language processing—particularly with expressive language, written communication, and organizing thoughts. TBI can also impair processing speed and executive functioning, which includes decision-making, logical reasoning, and problem-solving. Many veterans notice difficulties with simple and complex math, and changes in gross and fine motor coordination, which can affect everything from walking and balance to handwriting or manual tasks.

How My Evaluation Helps Veterans
My PTSD and TBI evaluations are designed not only to provide a clinical diagnosis but also to offer comprehensive documentation for your VA disability claim. This includes standardized testing, clinical interviews, and a detailed Nexus letter connecting your symptoms to military service. Led by the former Command Psychologist for the U.S. Special Operations Command-Korea (SOCKOR Concilio Proveho), this service is tailored to the real-life needs of both combat veterans and those who served in essential non-combat roles, recognizing the full range of stressors, exposures, and cognitive impacts experienced during military service.
