Neuropsychological Assessment

Neuropsychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of how your brain functions. It goes beyond standard psychological testing by examining multiple areas of cognition, including attention, memory, executive functioning, language, processing speed, visual-spatial skills, and emotional regulation. These evaluations are especially helpful when you’ve experienced changes in your thinking, mood, or behavior following a head injury, stroke, medical illness, or neurological condition. They are also valuable for diagnosing ADHD, learning disorders, and tracking cognitive changes related to aging.

The assessment process involves a detailed clinical interview, standardized tests, behavioral observations, and review of relevant records. Testing sessions are tailored to your concerns and typically span several hours. The goal is not just to provide scores but to uncover patterns in cognitive strengths and weaknesses that help explain everyday difficulties. When appropriate, the assessment includes differential diagnosis—for example, distinguishing between trauma-related memory problems and early signs of cognitive decline.

You will receive a personalized, easy-to-understand written report along with clear feedback and recommendations. Whether the results are used for treatment planning, educational or occupational accommodations, or disability documentation, the findings aim to support your functioning and well-being. This service is especially useful for individuals coping with traumatic brain injury (TBI), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other complex clinical presentations.
